The expansion to the west didn’t stop there.

The pioneers then flooded the west. They went West with their family, using the covered wagon. The great overland trails were set from the Missouri River expanding to Oregon. This trail was not an easy one. Pioneers had to face harsh condition of the land. In the period of 1830-1860, it was estimated that more than 300,000 people had travelled to Oregon in this way, by using wagon. In 1846, Oregon was added to the US. The expansion to the west didn’t stop there. Texas was annexed in 1844. The Mexican-American war took place in 1847, resulting in the addition of California. In 1849, the frenzy of gold-seeking brought settlers to California for what it’s called as California Gold Rush.
